Nominations will be accepted for the following positions at the Special Nomination Meeting on May 12, 2020 at 4:30pm on Zoom:
- 1st Vice President
- Membership Secretary
- Chief Steward
- Treasurer
- Executive Board Member at Large
- Trustee
- Stewards
- Alameda County Central Labor Council Delegate
- Contra Costa County Central Labor Council Delegate
- San Joaquin County Central Labor Council Delegate
- AFSCME International Virtual Convention Delegate
NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS
Special Nomination Meeting will be held on May, 12, 2020. If you’d like to nominate yourself or another member, you may do so at this meeting. See full list of Number of Positions and Term Length.
All nominations must be received before the close of the special nomination meeting on May 12, 2020 to be valid. It is recommended you consult with the member before nominating.
ELECTION
After nomination period has closed, a balloted contested positions will be mailed to your home address with a pre-addressed, stamped envelope. Ballots must be returned to the AFSCME Council 57 office by 4:00 pm on Thursday June 26, 2020. Further instruction will be included with the ballot. Results will be announced at the June 30,2020 membership meeting.
ELIGIBILITY
Only members in good standing are eligible to nominate or vote in elections. In order to run for an elected position, members must have been in good standing for the six (6) months immediately following the election. If you’re not a current member and would like to vote, you will need to join by May 21, 2020. Please contact Diane Eggering for more information.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, in person gatherings, availability of facilities, and staffing at the Council office and related services may not be available during the election cycle. For the safety of all of our members, scheduled meetings may be held by virtual means.
