Indigenous Peoples’ Day

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy, healthy, and safe holiday on Monday, October 12. This is a Union-negotiated holiday that Local 2019 has fought hard to implement and keep. The Executive Board of Local 2019 has voted to recognize this holiday as Indigenous Peoples’ Day this year and hopes to change the name permanently during the next contract negotiations.

Local 2019 honors and recognizes indigenous peoples and the Ohlone and Chochenyo land that makes up the EBMUD service area.
